My client is a leading EPC company who are heavily involved in the Transmission & Distribution industry. Working in partnership we are seeking a Transmission Project Engineer to join their project team and be responsible for the engineering of EPC project designs, material, equipment and construction specification development for high voltage projects. The client has recently won a major contract with a California utility company and needs a result driven Project Engineer to assist in managing all the projects.

Role

  • Lead the preparation of design deliverables for underground and overhead transmission lines.
  • Efficiently estimate project times and schedules. Asses design options and conduct field visits to verify routing conditions and parameters.
  • Plan and profiles, ampacity calculations, pulling calculations, material selection, duct bank design, and construction specifications in compliance with safety, environmental and client standards and policies.
  • Review drawings for manufacturers and use pertinent information in the production of design drawings
  • Review and approve drawings and material lists developed by designers.
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
  • Constant communication with personnel, contractors, regulatory representatives, and officials in a positive, collaborative manner.
  • Visit client sites, field and vendor facilities if needed.
  • Conduct internal and external client meetings.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in overhead transmission line design.
  • Degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering
  • Understanding of ANSI, ASTM & ASCE standards, IEC, ICEA, AEIC and NESC.
  • Strong design capability using CYMCAP/ETAP, PLS-CADD,/
